Amy Matthieu is doing weekly nose work classes at the Clean Run facility in South Hadley, MA. About Amy

My passion for K9 Nose Work started in 2013 with my first Bernese Mountain Dog, Echo. She had a lot of energy and needed a job, and a local training center recommended that we try nosework classes. I had no idea what nosework was but decided to give it a shot. Echo and I were both instantly hooked and began competing in 2014. In 2019, Echo achieved her Elite Champion (ELT-CH) title, becoming the 3rd Berner to do so. We competed in one Summit trial prior to her passing in 2020.

Leroy is my second nosework partner, and he has excelled in the sport. We placed first overall in NW2, NW3, and Elite trials, and he earned his ELT-CH in May 2024. His greatest achievement was earning his first Summit title, coming in third place overall, in November 2024. Leroy is the first Berner ever to achieve a SMT title. 

Throughout the years I have volunteered for numerous trials, acted as volunteer coordinator, and became a Score Room Lead. I have also apprenticed with a certified nosework instructor (CNWI) for over a year. I decided to enroll in the 2024 CNWI training course with the NACSW and have completed all the classroom requirements. I am now an Associate Nosework Instructor (ANWI) and expect to complete my certification within the next few months.
