Are you looking for a simple tug toy that is easy on your hand, will excite your dog, and can be "squashed up" and put in your pocket? The Wild Thing Tail Tug is made from real-looking faux fur.
The fur portion of the toy is approximately 8" in length. The handle is made from 1"-wide soft-touch nylon. The nylon runs from the handle all the way through the furry bite area for strength. The fringy bottom of the toy lets you tease and excite the dog. The overall length of the toy is 25". Machine washable.

I got this for my 5 month old sheltie puppy, but when i got it out my older dog who's not much of a tugger was totally obsessed, and even chased it along the ground.
