The 4.5" Ruff Tugger Ball is similar to a Medium Hol-ee Roller in that it's the same size, soft, flexible, and made out of certified non-toxic rubber. But the similarities end there. The "cage" of the Ruff Tugger Ball has a wide, solid area of rubber that runs around the ball like on a softball or baseball. In addition, the holes are different sizes and some of them are smaller. This reinforcement which is molded into the ball and the smattering of some smaller holes, makes the Ruff Tugger significantly stronger than other rubber cage balls. It's still flexible, but it doesn't stretch to extremes when you're tugging as do other cage balls.

If your dog isn't into tugging, it's an excellent ball for fetch or general play. The open design also makes it easy to stuff with your dog's favorite treats, ice cubes, or whatever else you can think of to create mentally challenging puzzle. You can also put in a small toy that fits through one of the larger holes in the ball to create a toy in a cage. We love the Doggie-Zen Hol-ee Stuffers for that purpose.
